A blue and white Christmas

Christmas this year is blue and white. The only Christmasy places.. the Shoppers stops and the Westsides were all colored blue and white .

Maybe since there is nothing very cheery abt this Christmas... red and green would have been too happy a colors to use... or maybe blue is the new red .. or maybe simply enough ...things have changed.

Staying away from home in December has always been tough for me..( this is the third year in succession that I am not home ) .. not that we had any major parties and celebrations at home...

Maybe its the food... winters always brought with it the gobhi and mooli parathas ..

Maybe its pleasantly warm "dhoop" mixed with sweet "adrak ki chai " that I miss...

Maybe its the fact that nights would be longer and that me and bro could snuggle under rajais and read Enid Blytons .... giggling our heads off..

Maybe I miss Dad putting in tit bits in the socks we used to hang up ever Christmas eve..

Maybe it was the new years eve program that all of us waited for ... stocked with chips and cold drinks and gulab jamuns ...

Maybe it was just that it is so cold outside that it makes u miss the warmth.... of your Mom's hug... your Dad's daant and your Bro pulling your leg...

Maybe ... things change ... like red becomes blue....

But then come Christmas eve... four best friends get drunk ... come back home...talk endlessly over maggi and ice-cream ... laugh over the last seven years and more to come... and you think ... maybe ...things will be okay ... and blue might not be red... but blue is good... blue is familiar too... blue loves you too... blue might also be there... forever...

So here's wishing the seven best people I know in the world.... A very blue Christmas and a bluer New year !!!
